Cooking Steps

Bake the fries

  • Preheat oven to 240°C/220°C fan-forced. Cut potato into fries.
  • Place on a lined oven tray. Drizzle with olive oil, season with salt and toss to coat. 
  • Bake until tender, 20-25 minutes. 

TIP: If your oven tray is crowded, divide between two trays.

  • Meanwhile, thinly slice capsicum.
  • Thinly slice onion (see ingredients).
  • Drain sweetcorn.
  • Cut streaky bacon into 1cm pieces.

Little cooks: Don your goggles and have a go at peeling off the onion's outer layer!

Cook the veggies, bacon & chicken

  • In a large frying pan, heat a drizzle of olive oil over medium-high heat.
  • Add bacon, diced chicken, capsicum, sweetcorn and onion and cook, tossing, until golden and tender, 6-7 minutes.
Heat the pita bread

  • Microwave pita bread on a microwave-safe plate until warmed through, 1 minute.

Toast the pita bread

  • Halve pita bread and spread with tomato sugo. 
  • Fill with bacon veggie mixture and shredded Cheddar cheese.
  • Place filled pita in a sandwich press and cook 
    until the cheese has melted and pita is golden, 
    2-3 minutes.

Little cooks: Take the lead by spreading the sauce into pita bread and adding the filling!

Finish & serve

  • Divide crispy bacon, chicken and Cheddar pita pocket melts and fries between plates.
  • Serve with Caesar dressing. Enjoy!
