Ahh the humble sausage sizzle, it's a BBQ staple. We're providing everything you need right here, and we've even tossed in a few added extras like a bacon jam and a creamy salad to amp it up a notch!

• Preheat BBQ to medium-high heat. • Brush the sausages with olive oil. • Finely shred cos lettuce. Thinly slice apple into sticks. Slice avocado in half, scoop out flesh and roughly chop. Thinly slice onion. • In a medium bowl, combine diced bacon, onion, a drizzle of olive oil and a pinch of salt and pepper.
• Grill bacon and onion on BBQ flat plate, tossing occasionally, until tender and slightly charred, 8-10 minutes.
No BBQ? In a large frying pan, heat a drizzle of olive oil over a high heat. Cook bacon and onion, tossing occasionally, until tender and lightly charred, 6-8 minutes.
• When BBQ is hot, grill herbed sausages, turning occasionally, until cooked through and slightly charred, 8-12 minutes.
No BBQ? In a large frying pan, heat a small drizzle of olive oil over medium heat. Cook sausages, turning occasionally, until browned and cooked through, 10-12 minutes.
• Slice hot dog buns in half lengthways, three quarters of way through. • Grill buns, cut-side down, until lightly golden, 2-3 minutes.
No BBQ? Bake hotdog buns directly on a wire oven rack until heated through, 3 minutes.
• Meanwhile, in a large bowl combine cos, apple, avocado, dill & parsley mayonnaise and a drizzle of vinegar. • Season generously with salt and pepper.
• Bring everything to the table to serve. • Fill hot dog dog buns with roasted tomato salsa, pork sausages and grilled bacon onions. • Serve with avocado cos salad. Sprinkle grated parmesan cheese over salad. Enjoy!
