Cooking Steps

Bake the fries
1
  • Preheat oven to 240°C/220°C fan-forced. Cut potato into fries.
  • Place on a lined oven tray. Drizzle with olive oil, season with salt and toss to coat.
  • Bake until tender, 20-25 minutes.

TIP: If your oven tray is crowded, divide between two trays.

Get prepped
2
  • Meanwhile, finely shred cos lettuce.
  • Thinly slice onion (see ingredients).
Make the burger patties
3
  • In a medium bowl, combine lamb mince, All-American spice blend, fine breadcrumbs and the egg.
  • Using damp hands, shape lamb mixture into 2cm-thick patties (1 per person).
Caramelise the onion
4
  • In a large frying pan, heat a drizzle of olive oil over medium-high heat.
  • Cook onion, stirring regularly until softened, 5-6 minutes.
  • Reduce heat to medium. Add the balsamic vinegar, brown sugar and a splash of water and mix well. Cook until dark and sticky, 3-5 minutes. Transfer to a small bowl.
Cook the patties
5
  • Wash out frying pan and return to medium-high heat with a drizzle of olive oil.
  • Add lamb patties and cook until just cooked through, 4-5 minutes each side (cook in batches if your pan is getting crowded).
Finish & serve
6
  • Divide cos, fries, caramelised onion and burger patties between bowls. Serve with burger sauce. Enjoy!
