Cooking Steps

1
1

• Preheat oven to 240°C/220°C fan-forced. • Cut potato into wedges, then place on a lined oven tray. Drizzle with olive oil, season with salt and toss to coat. • Spread out evenly, then bake until tender, 20-25 minutes.

Little cooks: Kids can help toss the wedges.

2
2

• Meanwhile, thinly slice chives. • Slice haloumi in half crossways to get 1 thin piece per person.

3
3

• In a shallow bowl, combine All-American spice blend, the plain flour and salt, then season with pepper. • In a second shallow bowl, whisk the egg. • In a third shallow bowl, add panko breadcrumbs. • Coat haloumi first in the flour mixture, followed by the egg and finally the panko breadcrumbs. Transfer to a plate.

Little cooks: Kids can help crumb the haloumi! Use one hand for the wet ingredients and the other for the dry ingredients to avoid sticky fingers.

4
4

• Heat a large frying pan over medium-high heat with enough olive oil to coat the base of the pan. • Cook haloumi until golden brown, 2 minutes each side. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate.

5
5

• In a large bowl, add slaw mix, chives and 1/2 the smokey aioli. Toss to coat and season to taste.

Little cooks: Take the lead by combining the ingredients for the slaw!

6
6

• Slice lemon into wedges. • Divide American-style haloumi schnitzels, potato wedges and smokey slaw between plates. • Serve with lemon wedges and remaining smokey aioli. Enjoy!
