Cooking Steps

1
1

• Preheat oven to 240°C/220°C fan-forced. Cut potato into fries. • Place fries on a lined oven tray. Drizzle with olive oil, season with salt and toss to coat. • Spread out evenly, then bake until tender, 20-25 minutes.

2
2

• Finely chop garlic. Thinly slice radish. Slice haloumi into sticks. Drain liquid from beef strip packaging. • In a medium bowl, combine beef, garlic & herb seasoning and a drizzle of olive oil. • In a large frying pan, heat a drizzle of olive oil over medium-high heat. Cook garlic until fragrant, 1 minute. Transfer garlic oil to a small bowl, then add Greek-style yoghurt and stir to combine. Season to taste.

3

• Return the frying pan to medium-high heat with a drizzle of olive oil. When oil is hot, cook beef strips in batches, tossing, until browned and cooked through, 1-2 minutes. Return all beef to the pan. • Remove from heat, then add the honey and toss to coat. Transfer to a plate.

4
4

• Wipe out the frying pan, then return to mediumhigh heat with a drizzle of olive oil. Cook haloumi, until golden brown, 1-2 minutes each side.

5
5

• Meanwhile, microwave mini flour tortillas on a plate in 10 second bursts until warmed through. • In a second medium bowl, combine baby spinach leaves, radish and a drizzle of vinegar and olive oil. Season.

6
6

• Top tortillas with radish salad, honey beef, haloumi, fries and some garlic yoghurt. • Serve with any remaining fries and garlic yoghurt. Enjoy!

Review summary

Updated on Feb 2026
  • Flavour: Many enjoyed the combination of chicken and haloumi, though some found it needed more seasoning or freshness.
  • Ease of prep: First-time haloumi users found it easy to cook, but a few had trouble preventing it from melting.
  • Suggestions: Consider adding cucumber or tomato for freshness; some preferred pita bread over tortillas for a more authentic gyros experience.
  • Next-day meals: The generous portions of chicken and haloumi allowed for leftovers, making it good value for some families.
  • Texture: For crispier fries, try using an air fryer to speed up cooking time and improve texture.
